Pre-publish gate that validates every post against the Citeability Engine so only AI-citeable content can ship.

== Description ==

Citeability by Ask Hercules adds a Gutenberg sidebar panel and a pre-publish gate. Before a post can be published it must pass the five Citeability Gates:

1. **Schema Gate** — JSON-LD present and valid
2. **Pillar Gate** — links to a pillar / canonical
3. **Internal Links** — ≥ 2 same-domain links
4. **External Citations** — ≥ 1 authoritative source
5. **Social Echo** — at least one social signal

In **Hard Block** mode (default) the plugin demotes the post to Draft if any gate fails, even if a client bypasses the editor. In **Soft Warn** mode authors see the gate results but can still publish.

The API key is stored server-side only and never sent to the browser. All checks are proxied through `/wp-json/citeability/v1/check`.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `citeability-by-ask-hercules` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
2. Activate the plugin.
3. Generate an API key at **Ask Hercules → Workspace Settings → Integrations → Citeability API Keys**.
4. Paste the key under **Settings → Citeability** in WordPress.

== Changelog ==

= 1.0.1 =
* Surface real upstream error messages and HTTP status in the editor sidebar.
* Add "Test connection" button on Settings → Citeability for one-click diagnostics.
* Fix Internal Links gate not rendering due to key mismatch (`internal` → `internal_links`).
* Stop sending unsupported `schema_type: Article`; default to none so the Schema Gate only fires when FAQPage/QAPage is intended.

= 1.0.0 =
* Initial release: Gutenberg sidebar, REST proxy, server-side publish gate.
